Did I mention that we had a private sauna in the master suite at our Northville home for sale? Michigan winters get cold and there is no better way to warm up than sitting in the sauna. So nice and relaxing!
According to http://www.saunafin.com/health_benefits.htm, you can gain the following health benefits.
- During a 10-20 minute sauna session, your heart rate increases by 50-75%. This provides the same metabolic result as physical exercise. The increased cardiac load is the equivalent to a brisk walk. There is a nominal effect on blood pressure because the heat also causes blood vessels in skin to expand to accommodate increased blood flow.
- Blood vessels become more flexible and there is increased circulation to the extremities. During a sauna, blood flow to the skin increases to as high as 50-70% of cardiac output (compared to the standard 5-10%). This brings nutrients to subcutaneous and surface tissue resulting in glowing healthy skin.
- Saunas induce sweating to provide a comprehensive cleansing of the skin and sweat glands. Skin is the largest organ in the body. 30% of body wastes are passed through the skin. Profuse sweating enhances the detoxifying capacity of the skin by opening pores and flushing impurities from the body.
- When taking a sauna, skin temperature rises to 40°C (104°F) and internal body temperature rises to about 38°C (100.4°F). Exposure to the high heat creates an artificial fever state. Fever is part of the body’s natural healing process. Fever stimulates the immune system resulting in increased production of disease fighting white blood cells, antibodies and interferon (an anti viral protein with cancer fighting capability).
- Many regular sauna users claim that a “good sweat” at the onset helps relieve and ward off the most severe symptoms of cold or flu.
- Relief from the pain and stiffness of arthritis.
- Revives tired and strained muscles after physical exertion.
- The cleansing effect of profuse perspiration helps provide healthy skin and a clear complexion.

Throughout history, people have acknowledged the benefits of hot water. Many doctors even prescribe hydrotherapy. We just loved to unwind and relax in our Jacuzzi. Our Northville home for sale has three hot tubs! The one pictured above is in the master suite and is built for two. There is another one in the master bathroom. The third one is outdoors and connected to the pool. I couldn’t describe how wonderful it was to sit outdoors with the hot water bubbling around us while we stared at the stars and pondered the meaning of the universe. God, I miss this house. I hope that some other couple can experience the bliss and love that we did in our home.
According to Jacuzzilife.com, you can obtain the following health benefits from a Jacuzzi.
- Mitigates the symptoms of muscle strains, sprains, and many other injuries
- Increases blood flow and circulation
- Alleviates back pain
- Eases the symptoms of arthritis
- Brings the body into a more calm and liberated state
- Encourages a deep, restful sleep
- Diminishes chronic pain
- Reduces blood sugar levels for Type 2 diabetics
- Helps restore range of motion
- Speeds the elimination of toxins, which are replaced by oxygen and the body’s natural nutrients
- May help lower blood pressure

They say that the one room that causes the most fights in a home is the bathroom. I remember growing up that all five of us shared one bathroom. It was a nightmare in the morning. And God pity the one that had to use it after my Dad did. Whew!
My wife says that one of the reasons that we have such a happy marriage is separate bathrooms. In our home for sale in Northville MI, there are 5.5 bathrooms! Every person in the house can have their own bathroom. Your whole family can be happy! I can’t tell you how nice it was to have my own bathroom and take showers for as long as I wanted without having to worry about a thing. Oh, by the way, this house has two hot water heaters. We had one just for the master suite.
The master bedroom, which is more like a luxurious suite in a Las Vegas hotel, has his and her baths. Her bathroom has a walk-in-closet bigger than our Manhattan apartment’s kitchen. It has a sit down vanity and a Jacuzzi bathtub. His bathroom has plenty of closet space and a huge shower—plenty of room for two.
The “other” master bedroom has a private bathroom with another sit-down vanity. This is one pictured above. It also has a huge walk-in-closet. This was our teenage daughter’s room. She is a princess and felt like one in this room.
There is a “Jack-n-Jill” bathroom situated between the other two bedrooms. A Jack and Jill bathroom is one that is commonly shared between the occupants of the two bedrooms and has separate doors that lock for privacy. Our teenage son had the bathroom to himself and we turned the other bedroom into an office. (below)
The half bathroom is located in the hallway, just off the family room. This was for guests and didn’t need a bathtub. Since we all had our own bathrooms it was always clean and neat because our children didn’t use it. We didn’t have to worry about how it might look if we had an unexpected guest show up.
The fifth bathroom is located near the swimming pool and its entrance is from the outside. It is large enough so that guests can change their clothes and shower after swimming or enjoying the outdoor hot tub.

I hate mowing the lawn. What a waste of time. I hated feeling all sticky and sweaty. I am allergic to grass and would sneeze for the rest of the day.
I hate paying to have my lawn mowed. What a waste of money.
I loved our Northville home for sale with no lawn. There is nothing to mow! It is in a natural environment. Now that doesn’t mean there wasn’t a gorgeous backyard.
Take a look at our backyard—it is brick paver, completely surrounded by woods. Complete privacy! It was wonderful for entertaining.

I love swimming. There is nothing more refreshing than a quick dip in the pool. After work, I love to unwind by swimming.
Can you imagine having your own heated swimming pool in your private backyard?
By private, I mean, surrounded by woods so that nobody can watch.
When we first saw the Northville home with the swimming pool, we fell in love. I never had a home with a swimming pool and was concerned about the maintenance. The swimming pool at 48265 Nine Mile Road is maintenance free. It has an automatic cover that opens and closes at the push of the button to keep out the leaves. A little robotic vacuum cleaner keeps it clean. In the master bedroom is a control panel that gives you the ability to program the temperature, so if you want the pool to warm up to 75 degrees before you get home, it is done.
The heated swimming pool has an attached hot tub and the water can fall into the pool. I will save the hot tub experience for another post.
And if you like to entertain, there is nothing like a pool party. The kids love this pool which has a diving board at the deep end. There is even an outdoor bathroom with shower so that your guests don’t have to ever go into the house.
If you are looking for a Northville home with inground pool, you have found the perfect place.
